It’s insulting when someone complements effort because 1, it implies the artist doesn’t have talent, 2 it implies the artist struggled to make the work, 3, it kind of implies the artist failed and got a consolation prize “at least you tried’” 4 it implies anyone could create the art if they just put in enough mindless effort, like counting all the grains of sand on a small beach, 5 it encourages people to write off pursuing art because they think it will take forever to get good, when in reality if they have talent, it will be much faster. At the end of the day, it’s incredibly patronizing.

Thanks for being patient. At some point I hope to share some stuff here on UA-cam featuring the making of the book. Book 1 is fully penciled and about 24 pages are fully inked out of about 150.
